Hi,
The European Community has just adopted a new common currency, the Euro. One of the many problems that come with this change is the availability, on computer keyboards, of the sign that was created to designate that currency. Not only can it not be found on any computer keyboard, it still has no ASCII code associated with it. Even if it did, all computer fonts would have to be recompiled to include that new sign.
As soon as ANSI assigns an ASCII code to the Euro sign, software makers will almost immediately include it in the True-Type fonts they include with their software. However, this is not done yet, and even after it gets done, there will still be older .TTF files in use everywhere.
Hope that helps!
Allen
