I really like the layout. Very clean and simple. I don't envy you for trying to mess around and integrate WordPress into your entire site. I've never played with it too much, but I know Allen banged his head against the wall numerous times just trying to get the HTMLCenter Blog integrated with the rest of this site.
A few suggestions (or comments, rather):
1) Your quote blocks, while looking just fine on most monitors, are extremely hard to read on good quality, high-resolution monitors. I just started a new job, and they got me a very nice 19" gateway LCD monitor and I have noticed over the last few days just how difficult it is to read bright text on a bright background. I've never had that problem on my other monitors, because the colors are all so dull on them. However, when viewing sites on a good quality monitor, I've discovered just how bright colors can really be on a monitor, and found it very difficult to read some things.
Anyway, so you might want to play with the colors of your quote blocks a bit in order to make them more readable on high resolution monitors.
2) The page doesn't properly scale down to 800 x 600 resolution. I think it's because your banner image is about 20 pixels too wide in order to fit in an 800x600 resolution. Other than that, your site scales extremely well to different resolutions, and I am impressed by that. However, like I said, when you scale your browser down to 800 x 600 (if you don't already have it installed, I recommend installing the
Web Developer Toolbar in Firefox), the page is slightly too big to fit in the browser without scrolling horizontally.
