3essentials.com review
I just thought I'd give 3essentials.com a good nod here. So far I am very happy with them.
I am hosting a website using Wordpress with them. I pay $5.95 a month because I pay monthly, but it's cheaper if you prepay for 12 or 24 months (as low as $4.00 with the plan I selected). If you sign up for 1 or 2 years you can get up to 6 months free!
I host on one of their Linux servers and have registered a domain with them. I noticed their domain registration page looks similar to GoDaddy's. It's because they use Wild West Domains for their domains, which is owned by GoDaddy, but rest assured their websites are hosted on their own servers.
I must say mine is really fast compared to what I had on GoDaddy in the past. We host 5 or 6 websites on Yahoo! Small Business where I work and so far I like 3essentials much better.
Setup was quick. If you don't want to install Wordpress yourself you have to open a support ticket and they'll do it for free. I've contacted tech support a few times.. stuff like pre-sales questions, the wordpress setup, etc. They're very quick to respond. Usually within an hour or so for me.
Nice thing here is you get full access to .htaccess file, which Yahoo! doesn't give you. This is one thing I wanted in a web host so I can block hotlinking among other things.
