additional information

Since the problem mentioned in the previous post has not been solved I thought I would try this. I replaced the topframe (personally I don't really like frames all that much but this is what I was stuck with, the design ready and all) with a new page with the same name. That new page was recognized in all browsers. I shut down the machine and went there again once restarted. All looked good with the new (weird) page. I then removed the old favorites folder in all browsers and created a new folder in which I stored the bookmark for the site. I then shutdown again. Restarted and rechecked. All was good. Then I replaced the weird page with the original page and... THE BEIGE BLOCK IS BACK!!!
Next step will be renaming the topframe and feeding that to the browsers, see if that helps.
The UTTERLY STRANGE thing is that when I upload the whole site to a folder called 'idiot' (I was frustrated, bare with me) the site looks fine!!! What the hell is going on...:drown
Okay, next step. Since I didn't hear from anyone, er... Well, I don't know, does anyone know what can be going on.
Or is this not the right forum to post? Am I allowed to post things like this here to begin with? If not please let me know.

Thumbs up found it!

I know what it is... Those freewebspacers are adding code to the page, under the closing body tag... It turns out that their stats are trying to feed me something for about 4/5 minutes, and if I leave the browser on, like I just did by accident, then after this time it will suddenly pop up fine! Hm... am I browsing 'too safely'? Their stats feeder is in my host file, so...
I shall clean up the previous post to make space. I don't know if that's mandatory but someone told me that's the thing to do, to remove links that no longer work and so on.

I don't quite get the issue... Sorry.

Do you have popups that you don't know where they come from? Give Ad-Aware (by LavaSoft) a try. You can find a link over at CNET's download.com .

Free webspaces always ad their own code to your pages. It's a mandatory thing, that's how they make money. Which is why I always advice people to look around. For example, if you want a free blog, go to blogger.com or maybe just get a really small account with any major webhosting company (maybe: www.1and1.com). They are extremely cheap nowadays.

Hope this was of some use!

Thanks.

I have Adaware running here, and Spybot and so on, so I suppose I am okay. I never get weird popups, which is good. I think the problem in this case was that 'all' my things together are stopping this nasty from getting what they need, and so the traffic is stopped. The weird thing is that it didn't happen when I put the whole little site in a new dir in his 'domain'. Strange...
Thanks for your reply.
