freeservers

A friend of mine wanted me to do his site, and put it up on freewebspace.com. He has a payed (cheap) version, but I run into problems. They don't seem to update their files. I can ftp all the recent files, even first delete the old ones, and eventhough all the temp int folders are clean and removed, his site will mess up the images and recognize the old ones that don't even exist anymore. The ultimate proof was when someone went to his site without seeing it before, and saw the old stuff. Does somone know how that is possible? He contacted freewebspace but they say it's HIS problem, of course, because the images are bad. Yeah, right. If freewebspace serves me a picture of someone sitting down while that has been replaced by someone standing up... The weird thing is that after a day, or a week, it depends, they will serve the new pics without me even ftp-ing again. Just to make sure: the cache has been cleaned, the temp folders removed. I had to do this to be sure and it has been tested on a few machines. There was a flash menu once, that was replaced with extra buttons in it. It took about 5 days for freewebspace to finally pick up on the new version. Text is updated just fine, but the pics aren't, only if I rename them.

Big problem in all browsers.

I am getting so frustrated and I really don't know what to do, I urgently need some solid input.
The problem:
I have to work on a website so it's on my machine too. All works fine when I am watching it on my machine (windows 2000 professional) When check it on internet, there will be a strange beige block next to the animation top left. When the website is on my machine, it works fine. When I watch it on internet, it produces this beige block. I see the block in every browser: IE, Firefox, Opera and Netscape.
Others have watched it on internet and they NEVER see the beige block.
I just ftp-d a screenshot of both local and internet index page.
So what is going on? I don't know what to do, something, some file must be corrupt. I don't know which one. I cleaned the .dat file, I stopped Proxomitron, I did all I could think of but now I am stumped... Can someone help? I am slowly :drown ...
I really really need help here...
