Page turn effect

Hi, everybody I am trying to find some really good scripting to make it appear that you turned the page when you click on the bottom of the screen.
The page is a combination of images and text all positioned using CSS.
It would be an added plus if it had a loading bar but not crucial.
Thanks in advance!

Question

I do not know if you would be interesyed in a Flash version, but I ran into one at Anfy Flash, but after looking for it again, I am not able to find it! Maybe you will find it considering I have been up for nearly 24hrs, and I am starting to get a little tired.

I would say that Flash is definately the best way to go with this. I found a couple of tutorials if you are interested:

http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/java...lashhacks.html
http://www.actionscripts.org/showMovie.php?id=459

You could probably create something like this is JavaScript if you really wanted, but you would really need to know your stuff. It would require a massive amount of coding.

Thanks

thanks for both of your replies.
Leprakawn I couldn't find it either but interesting things on there anyway so not a total loss!

john-formbyI will take your advise and go flash. If I can figure out how to apply it correctly.
I may need help in that direction.
Pretty please.

Thanks for the link I bet it was hard to find I looked and found nothing like it (till I cheated with your link that is).
It looks like a usefull effect I might use elswhere on the pages or even the site but I dont think that will work for the restraunt menu pages I have designed with css that have text and images will it ?
It seems like its for images only right?
I have links to take people from "page to page" but wanted the flip page effect.
the other flash application might work but I am being too dense to figure out how to get it to use my pages how do I apply it?
Thanks again for the very useful help!

Oh, boy... another restaurant menu!

Yeah, I think the Anfy one is for imgs only. Would you be able to convert each menu page to an img? Dude, sudden idea: with Flash, you could add the gloss, light reflection when the page turns!!! Pretty cool, huh?

I take it you might be fairly new to Flash; if you need help with this stuff, we can hook you up!

Leprakawn, yes I am fairly new to flash I have done basic animated creations but not anything this involved. I would greatly appreciate the help.
As to "add the gloss, light reflection when the page turns!!! " sounds very interesting do you have any examples of this effect?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Question

Well, I do not have any examples, but I could show you if you send me a few pictures of your menu. BTW, would you like the page to turn as you move the mouse (like one of the examples from Formby), or would you like it to turn upon the mouse click?

Oh, I have a light/gloss example on my site, http://reaganator.com: Enter > Portfolio > Flash > 10TH Air Force. Also, if you have not realized the current issue with Flash...

FYI: Here is a tutorial I made for that effect: Flash: Text - Linear Gradient

Leprakawn, I can send you a few pictures of the menu but does it have to be a static page Or can I set it up using html and css? I want to keep this easy to edit I was also hopeing to install a slide show on some pages and pictures on other pages.
As to the crazy current issue with Flash...
I already have flash elements on pages and I hate being a pawn to microsoft (If we are even that important?

Thumbs down

Well, with the light glare effect, it would probably need to be an img... that way I can apply that to the mc, but if you want to ditch the glare and have it turn as ppl drag the mouse, HTML would be okay. And I do not know if HTML would really be necessary for it anyway considering I would load it all in Flash.

I saw the current menu that you have; do you want the Flash version to be the same size? I think I would have to make a recommendation of going smaller considering you will have two facing pages.

Oh yeah, and I got all excited because I thought you were another person doing another menu, but I completely forgot that you had already talked about it in another thread.

Hi yes we may have to dump the light glare effect even though that would be cool.
I think it might be better to do it like the officemax.com page were you click once and it turns without the drag (if thats possible).
As to size I have set up a sample of the page on freewebs see what you think size probable better not get smaller since that will make it hard to read especially for older viewers of the site.
here is the sample http://www.freewebs.com/bobwins/menu1.html see what you think!
Yes I had got some great help from you before on aanother post but i had to reregister sinc my password wasn't working nor was the forgot password part it never sent me an e-mail so i re-registered.
As I had mentioned some of the photos will be slide shows the sample pages use just a static picture.

Unhappy

I have been to the OfficeMax site a lot lately; where in the world do they have a page turn effect!!?

If it is just a one-click page turn, then I could add the glare; it would be applied via the mc. I was saying that if you wanted the page to turn as they dragged the mouse (a little stressful if you ask me for ppl who want things ten minutes ago), then I would not be sure how to apply the glare mc.

Is that menu even going to fit in the space for content on the site, or are you adjusting the whole site as well?

Sorry it was the broadband version of Officedepot that had a page turn effect I usually look at both when i am looking for anything.!!?
So you think maybe we could add the glare; you say it would be applied via the mc (sorry is does mc = macromedia just to be sure).
As to size I had hoped to leave it the size it is on the page you viewed will that be a problem?
I may want to put some other items on the "table" as decoration to go with the menu.

Can you post a link to the OfficeDepot broadband version? I looked for it, but I was not able to find it.

In Flashspeak, mc = movie clip.

Well, I was only able to guess about the size of the menu fitting into the current layout of the site. If it is able to fit, you nailed the size perfectly, but it looks like it might be off by only a few pixels. These items you want to add... will they be on the menu or around the menu? Just thinking about it, I think adding more stuff will be junk to the eyes/mind--something not necessarily needed considering everything else already there. I do not know, I guess it would help to see what you are talking about first.

Your navigation panel for the site; why are the links ind Flash files?

PS: ind = individual (that is myspeak!!)
