E-Book Help Needed!

First of all, I wish to extend my cordial greetings to the members of these forum!

I'm an experienced Internet user. I recently ventured into online auctions to help a friend sell stuff. Then it occurred to me how profitable this can be... or am I right?

Now I immediately noticed many people selling the same "e-Books" again and again. I have since learned that to legally sell these files, you need to purchase a Master Reseller Rights from the distributor in the US or elsewhere. Since posting to some eBay sites are still free of charge, I've decided to jump in and give this a try. I know the books are practically worthless now, being so commonplace (there are even illegal copies on the Web). But I figure that if I can find a distributor that offers low-priced Master Reseller Rights, then I could break even more quickly and even make a decent profit.

What I'd like to know now from you guys is, which e-Book distributors can you recommend that sells rights at a reasonable price? And where can I find one that sells books about martial arts, gardening, occult/religious books, and other topics? I'd like to sell books other than ones about sex and diet because that's what everyone else sells. I don't want to compete too much with my fellow sellers especially those I've bought e-Books from myself!

And my second question is this. I want to make my own e-Books. What format can you suggest? I'd like to be able to protect the code (if it's HTML or anything else) and the text. I'd also like to include a link to my web site as well as the name of the person who ordered it from me, to make it personal (like a dedication). Which w
ould be cheaper and better to use, a PDF software or HTML encryption?

I don’t know about selling e-books, but I do know that you will want to use a PDF as the format for a e-book. Acrobat Reader is available from everything to a PALM to a desktop computer. There also might be a specific format to e-books that I am not aware of, I personally like a physical book in my hand. The problem with e-books is there are so many ways to make illegal copies of the book, screenshots, another "print", character recognition software, etc. I wish you the best of luck with you endeavor, its not easy, but it should be worth it if you stick to your guns

Thanks. Yes. I know about PDF. I use pdfedit995 for my files. I wonder about other formats too!
