HTML Image question

I was sitting here making my website when i ran across a little predicament. I wanted to put these two pictures on my site but i need to "filter out" the black background of the image.

Does any one know the code to do this

Just to make sure I understand, you want to remove the black area of the imgs? If you have PS or PSP, you can easily do that. I can speak for PS: select the wand tool (you might want adjust the tolerance a bit); click anywhere in the black area; press delete. I don't think there's a code that can do what you're asking, but let's see what Curtiss or Allen has to say.

AFAIK, there is no code in any of the standard web languages to do that. I believe there might be XML code to do that, but that's getting well out of the standard spectrum.

Anyway - as Leprakawn said, you can do this pretty easily with PhotoShop and PaintShopPro. The process to delete the black is the same in both programs. Additionally, you could actually make the black transparent in both programs, but the process is different in each proggie (in fact, the process is very different in different versions of PSP). Basically, you just want to find the "set pallette transparency" item in one of the menus, and then choose the color that you want to be transparent.
