Advice: Easy News Uploader

I'm trying to find a good and "easy" to use news uploader for a client site. I've looked and attempted to get "cute news" and "phpnews" to work and I'm just not having any luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions for easy to install and use News Uploaders. I've got find something for a person or person's with limited Internet savvy to use.

Also, I'm looking for a photo gallery script/database to install that I can easily format to look like this example: http://www.javalotjive.com/emcbc/gallery.html

It's almost too simple, but I'm really beat, and I've got to get this to the point where the client can upload their images with the absolute minimum of effort or knowledge (that will be way too big and I'll get endless calls about how to use a photo editor...) anyway, help would be so much appreciated.

I'm guessing you're looking for something like a blog script. If that's the case, you have a few options.

Here's what I use:
I installed a YaBB forum on my site, and added the News Script mod to my forums. Then, anything posted in my News board automatically appears on my News page. You can check it out by going to http://dcevolution.net/DCHelp/ My news appears on that page, and the template is fully customizable.

There are also a few other forum softwares you can easily use as Blog scripts.

I've also heard good things about the 4est Blog script, but I can't find a download for it at the moment (it doesn't appear to be on the guy's page anymore, but you can visit his site at this link if you want to have a look around).

You'll be better off searching for Blog scripts, as opposed to news scripts, though. It will most likely bring up more results, and they're essentially the same thing.

For galleries, I really like coppermine. I think you can find it on Sourceforge(.net).

I like wordpress, you can find it at www.wordpress.org. It needs PHP and MySQL.
