Looking for a HTML edit pad

I don't want a website making program, I'm looking for a simple like notepad program where I can write my html code but has maybe colored text and a margins for tags and writing paragraphs. Is there anything out there that does these simple things? Again, I don't want some big web site creating program just like an enhanced notpad. If you know of any I'd apprechiate it

I've always liked htmlkit. It's gorgeus in my opinion and it's FREE.

GlobalScape's CuteHTML

I have been using CuteHTML for a long time, now. It is a very nice program. The full version even includes auto complete functions, so, if you are typing a standard HTML tag, it will give you a list of them from which to choose. The full version and the demo version both include colored text. It is a very nice, very simple proggie. You can get it from http://www.globalscape.com

I really love using IDM's Ultraedit:

It's great for perl, html - any language you set it up for, I guess...

Also imo Topstyle is handy for doing stlyesheets...

The two that I use and like the most are TextPad and HTML-Kit. It seems that HTML-Kit has more features than TextPad but I prefer the simple interface in TextPad. It's free too.

So far I know, Textpad is not free. It is a shareware!

Sorry. You're right, Text Pad isn't free. I was thinking about html-kit.

TextPad costs $27.

Maguma is too expensive and I have little use for its feature-rich environment (staging and so on).

I absolutely adore UltraEdit, to be found at http://www.ultraedit.com. Once in a while I find myself using vim (vi improved) and ee (either editor) as well. UltraEdit has proven to be very reliable so far. I'm eying with PHPed or whatever it is called. I have to find out the name...

I now use Crimson Editor--it is very light weight and excludes extra features that aren't pertinent.
