Need Paint Shop Pro advice!!!

I have loved my PSP 6.00 for 6 years...time to upgrade! BUT it seems like they have split off into a hundred different directions!! Photo paint shop, animation, etc. I would love my old tried and true with just new features. All the advertising I can find on the web regarding Paint Shop Pro Photo 10 seems to be all about photos. Is it just photos and none of the other old functions?? I would HATE to blow tons of cash to find out it has almost none of the old features, never mind new ones. Thanks for any help! I picked this site because it looked like there was a ton of experience around here. Hope my newbie type question doesn't annoy. Have a great day!

I have been a PSP user since v5, and I got a copy of PSP X a few months ago to review for this site (I had the review more than halfway done when my harddrive decided to die an early death and haven't had a chance to start working on it again since I brought my PC back to life).

Anyway, I would have to say that PSP has actually changed very little since the old days. New features have been added, but none of the old features have been taken away. I'm not sure about Animation Shop (I haven't taken the time yet to notice if that's still bundled with PSP or not), but the rest of the graphics editing features are still there, and then some. PSP is actually working its way closer and closer toward the feature-rich type of software everyone makes PhotoShop out to be.

Thumbs up Thanks for the advice guys!

The reason I have to try to upgrade is that I can't seem to emboss in color

Like these examples. And I am going for a new look on the webpage, so in order to do that, it's time to get the graphics and 'look' going.

I will look here tomorrow for any additional info you guys may be kind enough to bestow on me, but I think that I am convinced to purchase it. Thanks again for your help and any future hints and tricks! I'm glad I posted!

Very best regards,

Kim
