FTP Advice

Ok - i have been using my old wsftp for years now - probably over 7 yrs.. always worked fine...

only one issue - when i try to delete a dir - it always gives me a msg that the dir is not empty

is there a ftp program that i can use (hopefully free) that can delete directories with files in them?

Most do, e.g. Filezilla!

With most tools, there is an option that needs to be checked inside the settings, or sometimes they prompt you to confirm on delete.

Should all else fail, there should be a setting (I don't recall ever being able to find it in WSFTP, though) to show hidden files. Most likely, it is a hidden file (like .htaccess) that is causing you not to be able to delete the directory.

Till is right, though. In most FTP clients, there will be some sort of setting for "Force Delete" or something like that. I am pretty sure FileZilla supports that.

Who knows, maybe you'll find that you like FileZilla better than WSFTP (I know I never looked back after giving it a try).
