Kia ora from New Zealand

Hi All

I have made the plunge to going into business for myself - maybe not so wise given the economic climate but when restructuring comes knocking with an envelope during the peak of mid-life crisis - caution flew away with the Nor' Wester.

I have an IT background although it is not in this arena, however, this is the area I have found myself drawn to - by choice - as it is great medium that many (if not most) businesses can utilise to their benefit. I also believe the application of it is limited by ones vision and imagination.

As I am a one man band for now, it has been a sharp and swift learning curve - mainly through reverse engineering - for the life of me following instructions from a book never seems to work. I now have a reasonable grasp of the basics and have built a number of sites now for clients, each being more complex than the former as my skills have grown.

Now PHP and MySQL have come calling so I dusted off some of the cobwebs - boy they tend to cling - on my extremely mediocre programming skills gained from my varsity days. During which I found this site, which seems pretty cool and informative.

Mark
