Flash movie player embedded with controls

I'm a newbie and need help.

I'm converting MPEG videos to SWF or FLVs and would like to play them on my website. I know how to add these as regular flash movies, but I'd like something a little more user friendly for the website visitors. For instance, I'd like to have a movie clip that would be playable by hitting player control buttons -- but without a new popup playing the movie -- something like what you would find at www.instantvideo.info

Preferrably, I'd like to have the video waiting on the first frame and play when the "play button" is pressed, and stop, pause, etc.... I've been all over the internet looking for an embedded player such as this, but can't seem to come up with anything simple. I don't know much about Flash -- only that I have converted some MPEGs to Flash videos (which is preferrable since I want to avoid the choices between Windows Media, Quicktime, and Real Player).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!!!

hey, i have a pretty good idea on how to do it...you can use a movie editor to view your MPEG frame by frame...then copy each frame and keyframe it into flash...just like that. to control it, you can simply use basic keyframe controls such as GoToFrame(num).

hello. I`m using video to flash converter from geovid website. BUT WAIT!!
after converting it to flash If I choose it to watch via explorer tthere are e very friendly interfaced controls appear. maybe you could do the same. vid to flash convereter`s package has 2 flash players, so I think you could try it out, probably.

video to flash converter has an option "generate html". i think it's very convenient, it converts video to flash (.swf or .flv) and generates html with start, stop, pause buttons, you can also choose an option "loop".. so it will do everything you need i guess

and has anybody tried FlashConv? it`s a converter from a lot of different video formats such as avi, mpg, mpeg, wmv, mov, asf, mp4 into swf and flv.i think it`ll help a lot. look it on www.flashconv.com ))))))))))))))))

It's long thread right? I think it coz of people have started to interest more in computer technologies and how to apply it in a life.

I like video too. Recently I've bought video camera. Well I do a lot of video and some of them load to web as flash. I use geovid's converter (someone wrote about it here already).

But when I had linux I used on-line service vidflash coz it support all OS.
