Go vote and reply to tell us why you voted for Netscape or Opera, or whatever you voted for.

I use IE 5.
Netscape 4, 6 and Opera are only installed at work to bugtest. IE 5 is pretty fast and easy to get around with, the only downturn is installing those security updates every so often. I wish they would get all that out before they have a new release.

IE 5.5 & 6

Ha! - aren't you the optimist. Or maybe delusional?
I used Netscape up to version 4, then I switched to IE - can't remember why now, but IMO MS drew level with version 4.0 and then pulled steadily ahead from there on.
I use IE 5.5 on 2 newer Win2000Pro machines here, and IE 6.0 on 2 older Win98SE machines. Just testing IE6 on the less important PCs, don't see any great reason to bother upgrading the others from 5.5
I'm hearing that Netscape may have become non-disasterous again with 6.1/6.2 - I might give that a spin for fun sometime
And now, with any luck, we'll get a nice flame war going

 Quote torn from the context.
But seriously, I admire the folks at Opera Software for their work, although their browser ain't the best that's out there, they have improved a lot. I started using Netscape/Mozilla (latest, 6.2/0.95) a lot lately, 'cause it's stable and cause
<flamewar>
it's not by developed by Microsoft
</flamewar>
In the beginning I had Netscape, I went to IE around version 3.0 - cause it was a lot faster - and stayed around until 5.5. There's this issue of speed and performance especially on older computers, where IE just outscores the competition.

Oops, just defused the flamewar. Next thing we'll be spending a night at the Opera together ...
Groanwar commences ...

Hi,
I use IE 5.5
It's what I started with and I guess I'm used to it - it seems fine, and it works with code that I write.
I have netscape, netcaptor and opera to check my work,but it rarely works as well, so I give up.
I know a lot of folk don't like microsoft ( and they do seem to spend a lot of time in court) - but hey, if they can produce the goods...
It's like several years ago when Australians were being encouraged by lobby groups to boycott Nestle and Nescafe - I tried, but found that an awful lot of products on our supermarket shelves at the time could be traced back to those companies.
Even now, if we were to follow the "buy Australian" campaign - I wouldn't be able to have my vegemite!
I know that's off the track, but hey...

I use IE5.5 and NS4.7.
Also, FYI... AOL is considering switching its internal browser to Netscape Gecko... 34 million new netscape users...
sure does change things!

IE6 - it comes with WinXP. It's pretty nifty, no bugs...I can't stand NS so I refuse to use any of their browsers. Opera just sounds like a gay name for a browser.

I like Windows 2000, i have to admit that. It's probably the best windows I ever installed.
I tried XP at a friend (who had problems getting her printer to work), and it's easy - I'd probably install it at my mom's computer (if it wasn't that damn expensive), but I don't like how it hides features, or how you have to edit system files in order to uninstall certain "features".

I prefer Explorer 6. About 90% of computers are IBM based PCs and have Windows installed. (No, that's not a verified percentage. ) Although I do like Opera. It's pretty nice. And definitely is faster than any other browser I've seen. Although with cable Internet access it's hard to detect a slow loading page. Unless of course EVERYONE and their brother is online at the same time in the neighborhood hogging the bandwith. I'm going back to dial up!! Just kidding.

I did not like xp with 6.0
Hi,
I upgraded to xp and had nothing but problems with IE6.
Of course that could be because I use aol.
Aol has opened a beta test of the newest netscape browser for their customers.
IF you are interested in trying it out and you are on aol, just type beta in the keyword box.
