That's what I figured
Mostly I like the effect when creating gradiant buttons. We have quite a few sites internally that have gradient backgrounds in the client interface (We're a Notes/Domino shop). We install both Firefox and IE on many machines, though our internal clients primarily still get IE (so no problem there). However, many of these internal applications are now being exposed to the internet and I wanted to create a consistent user interface across all browsers. It's not that big a deal, it primarily pertains to buttons, and it degrades nicely in Firefox and Safari.
