First of all, if you say ASP, you really want ASP.NET, the other is no match what-so-ever. Secondly, it always depends (You saw that one coming, did you not?). If your webhosting is Unix/Linux based PHP is more than likely to be around, if you are on a Windows host you will probably have ASP.NET. That would be it.
Our personal favorite here at HTMLcenter is PHP. (Oh, and some claim Coldfusion, but you know...
). For example this lovely forum is written in PHP. I like PHP for it's open source background and it's quite portable too (works on Windows as well).
In the end, you decide.
